Meal Prep: To The Max

The last few weeks my husband and I have seriously talked about getting more into meal prepping. We have both gotten new jobs within the last few months and because of that we are essentially two passing ships in the night! We don’t have a ton of time to make dinner when we’re both home, let alone eat together.

So we went out one night and bought some new Tupperware that would be able to really seal in any food that we were to cook. I didn’t see the point in taking the time to make however much food just for it to go to waste because we didn’t have the proper containers. But then came the question, what are we going to make?

In addition to being interested in meal prepping, we were also interested in trying out HelloFresh. HelloFresh is a company that provides you with a variety of recipes to pick from each week, and then they ship all the ingredients and fresh produce to make the meals come to life. They have family meals for four, couple meals for two, meat options, and veggie options. They only things that do not come in the box are salt, pepper, and oil/butter. But I really like that, as I am dairy free so I am able to substitute things out that fit my dietary needs. You are also able to decide what day you would like your box delivered – including if you want to skip a week!

What my husband and I decided to do, is have our boxes get delivered on Friday, and then spend the following Sunday meal prepping for the upcoming week. We slept in this past Sunday, and spent around 4 hours making a total of six meals and we cleaned the kitchen.

It was honestly a really nice opportunity to spend quality time together while ‘cheffing’ it up and making delicious recipes! Instead of serving the meals, we packed them away in our new containers and have been eating them one by one throughout this week. We decided to skip this upcoming week because of the holiday season, but will resume our boxes the week after.

I would completely recommend this to anyone who is thinking about trying it. By having our meals delivered it made our lives 10x easier! And by meal prepping it has been so nice to not have to worry about a dirty kitchen! Especially because our kitchen is so small.

Because I want you all to give it a try, head over to HelloFresh with this link and use the code HALEYLP to get $40 off your first box!

If you have any questions about my process please feel free to reach out to me over at my Instagram @mshaleyjohnson I would love to hear from you all! Happy prepping!
